How we help

How OG Advisors works

We are operators, investors, dealmakers, sales leaders and scientists with experience across the US, Europe, Japan and China. Beyond advice, we do the work of partnering, out-licensing, fundraising and commercialization, driving adoption by investors, partners, clinicians, health systems and patients.

How we work

What an engagement looks like

How does an engagement begin?

The first conversation focuses on the milestone, the obstacle, the work already completed and the decision that cannot wait. If there is a fit, we define a specific scope, the people involved, the first deliverables and how progress will be measured.

What happens after the first conversation?

If the work is a fit, we translate the problem into a focused scope: the objective, the questions to answer, the people involved, the initial deliverables and the way progress will be evaluated. The scope should make the next decision easier, not create a broad workstream without a clear purpose.

How does OG Advisors work with our leadership team?

We work as an extension of the leadership team, combining your scientific and operating knowledge with our business development and commercial perspective. The goal is a usable decision and a practical next step, not a report that sits on a shelf.

Will senior advisors do the work?

Yes. Engagements are led by experienced operators and corporate development professionals. The people in the room are the people analyzing the situation, shaping the strategy and participating in critical conversations.

What deliverables can we expect?

Deliverables follow the decision the engagement needs to support. They may include an opportunity-prioritization framework, refined value proposition or TPP, commercial landscape, market-sizing model, partner strategy, outreach materials, meeting preparation or a commercialization plan.

Do we need a polished deck before the first call?

No. Bring the milestone, the context and an honest account of what has and has not worked. Existing materials are useful, but the first conversation is about identifying the real problem before prescribing deliverables.

How do you measure progress?

Measures should match the assignment. They may include a clearer investment or partnership thesis, better-qualified targets, stronger meeting conversion, completion of priority evidence, movement through diligence, stakeholder alignment or an executable commercialization plan.

How do you anticipate what investors, strategic partners and health systems will need?

We know the internal questions and evaluation checklists these organizations use before formal diligence begins. We use that perspective to surface evidence gaps, stakeholder concerns and approval hurdles early, while there is still time to strengthen the opportunity.

Do you support buy-side deals after signing?

Yes. For buy-side work, a signed agreement is the start of value creation, not the finish line. We help teams plan integration, ownership, incentives, milestones and the operating decisions that determine whether the deal delivers value over the next 12 to 24 months.

How do you create value when a company is changing quickly?

We map the available opportunities, prioritize them against the strategic objective and manage multiple paths without losing the sequence. Then we help structure the transaction and the work after close so the chosen deal creates durable value.

Strategic advisory

Aligning science with commercial strategy

Do you help with target product profile optimization?

Yes. We develop or refine target product profiles so clinical goals and endpoints reflect commercial reality and the needs of payers, regulators and strategic partners. We also keep the TPP flexible enough to evolve with a development-stage program.

Can you help us prioritize indications or use cases?

Yes. We compare potential indications and use cases across unmet need, competitive intensity, clinical development feasibility and the payer landscape. The result is a clearer view of where to focus and which opportunities support the strongest commercial case.

Can you help define our value proposition?

Yes. We help translate scientific potential into a differentiated commercial proposition: the problem that matters, the evidence that supports the claim and the reason an investor, partner, clinician or buyer should act. The value proposition stays grounded in data and market insight.

Do you conduct commercial landscape and competitive assessments?

Yes. We map the current and emerging landscape, identify threats and differentiators, and examine the trends that could change the program's position over time. The assessment is built to inform decisions, not simply catalog competitors.

Can you build market-sizing and revenue-potential models?

Yes. We build stage-appropriate TAM, SAM and SOM models using epidemiology, patient segmentation, treatment pathways and pricing analogs. The objective is a credible opportunity estimate that leadership can use with investors and partners.

Can you connect clinical development strategy to commercial goals?

Yes. We work with clinical and regulatory teams to consider how endpoints, inclusion criteria, evidence needs and label-expansion opportunities may affect future market impact. Commercial thinking is most useful when it informs development choices early.

Can you prepare us for investors and strategic partners?

Yes. We help connect the scientific story, commercial proposition, market evidence and development plan into a cohesive case. That can include preparation for conferences, venture conversations and pharma partnering discussions, while regulated securities activity remains outside our scope.

Is strategic advisory the same as marketing?

No. This work informs product and company strategy before communications begin. It can include portfolio choices, TPP development, market evidence, clinical-development implications, positioning and partner readiness. Marketing may use those decisions later, but it is not a substitute for them.

Fit and timing

When the work is useful

Who is a good fit for OG Advisors?

A good fit usually has a meaningful milestone, a real constraint and an executive team ready to make decisions. Clients include biotech, medtech and diagnostics companies as well as health systems, research organizations and international life science companies entering the United States.

When should we start a conversation?

Start when you have a major milestone ahead and the path is unclear, whether that is a partnership, licensing deal, financing strategy, launch, adoption goal or complex negotiation. Earlier conversations create more options, but the right timing depends on the evidence and the objective.

Can OG Advisors help if prior outreach has stalled?

Yes. Stalled conversations often point to a problem with the target list, message, evidence, sequence or follow-up. We review what happened, identify the likely failure point and decide whether to repair the current process or rebuild it.

Does OG Advisors work with companies outside the United States?

Yes. For international and APAC companies, the work may include United States market entry, multinational-company outreach, commercialization strategy or evaluating whether a NewCo structure could support the objective. The route depends on the asset, market and counterparties.

Scope and boundaries

Fundraising and transaction roles

What does OG Advisors not do?

OG Advisors is not a broker-dealer and does not sell securities, place investments or take a commission on equity funding. We can support fundraising strategy, positioning, preparation and targeted outreach, and we can join appropriate strategic meetings, but regulated investment activity stays with the company and its licensed providers.

How is OG Advisors different from an investment bank?

OG Advisors works upstream on business development strategy, partnering, licensing, commercialization and the preparation around fundraising. An investment bank or broker-dealer performs regulated securities activity. A company may use both, with distinct scopes and responsibilities.

Can OG Advisors participate in partner or investor meetings?

We can prepare leadership, help shape the agenda and story, and join meetings where our strategic or technical role is appropriate. For fundraising, the company and any licensed provider remain responsible for regulated solicitation, placement and transaction execution.
